The eternal God is the eternal Refuge of His people; underneath them are the everlasting arms as their eternal security. With them He has made an everlasting covenant wherein all things are ordained and sure. Every member of this everlasting covenant is ordained to eternal life (Jn 13.48), and are designated as the sheep to whom Christ gives eternal life (Jn 10.28). All the purposes of Jehovah towards them are eternal (Eph 3.11). Their redemption is eternal (Heb 9.12); therefore their salvation is eternal (Heb 5.9). In this life they are called to eternal glory (1 Pet 5.10), while the afflictions they have to go through work for them an eternal weight of glory (2 Cor 4.17); and when they have finished with all that is temporal here, they enter their eternal habitation in the heavens (2 Cor 5.1), to enjoy their eternal inheritance (Heb 9.15), bought with an eternal price, even the blood of the everlasting covenant.
