A HYMN EXALTING GOD’S CREATION
For all the works thy hands display
Our God we would give praise,
For changing skies and seasons too,
And pleasant sunny days;
Since all around with matchless skill
We see thy wonders shewn,
Oh may our hearts rejoice in thee
And make thy praises known.
For birds that sing and plants that grow
Upon our fruitful lands,
For pleasant trees with varying shapes
Made by thy skilful hands;
Where’er we look our eyes behold
The greatness of thy power,
Thy will is done, thy plan unfolds
With every passing hour.
When many would deny thy Name
Nor see thy powers made known,
Our own dependence upon thee
With reverence would we own;
And may we ever humble be
In all our works and ways,
And trust thy providences still
Through all our changing days.
So as we feel thy presence here
We’ll humbly walk with thee,
And may we ever praise thy Name
For all thy works we see;
Then when this earth is made anew,
And sin no more will be,
Our great Creator we’ll enjoy
Through all eternity.
