Oh, tell me you wandering pilgrims
As you look with distress at your way,
Do you think of the Saviour that bought you,
Do you hear what His loving words say?
He is with you in all of your troubles,
He is with you in all of the road,
But He’ll teach you in some little measure
That on Him was the heaviest load.
Oh measure His pain on His journey,
His agonies caused Him to groan.
He has made for poor sinners a passage
From wrath to His father’s blest home.
Oh wonder and gaze in amazement
And ponder the depths of His love,
That He lay down His life for poor sinners,
That they all may dwell with Him above.
If the journey is causing you trouble,
If the roughness is causing distress,
Just continue to follow your Saviour
For such followers Jesus will bless.
