ENCOURAGEMENT TO FOLLOW THE SAVIOUR
June 1957 Dear—
You have been much upon my heart and in my prayers of recent date, but really I should not make that qualification for it has been so for a long time. I have longed that you might be so blessed with the love of Christ and have such a sweet increase of faith granted concerning the dear Saviour and His love such that you might be constrained to confess the One ‘Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son’, and Who ‘hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light’. I pray that you may be given the liberty of love on Monday as you seek to tell to sinners what the Lord hath done.
Look not on the church as a panel of judges but as a company of fellow sinners who have an appetite—often denied—to hear the glories of Jesus and of the Father’s love and the Holy Spirit’s power. You know how I welcome you ————— as a sister, beloved in Christ. The Lord bless you abundantly and give you the privilege and great joy of seeing Christ in His ordinances.
Excuse the manner of the note. I write after midnight, at Tenterden. Pray for us as we would for you.
Christian love,
LESLIE ROWELL.
