BESIDE A GRAVE
Beyond the sight of our poor mortal eyes
There is a life beyond these lower skies.
There is a glorious God enthroned in light
With majesty beyond all brightness bright.
And there are those for ever with the Lord
Who in this life did love His precious Word.
They praise Him now and see Him face to face,
That blessed God who saved them by His grace.
Their tears are wiped away, there’s no more pain,
Our loss indeed is their eternal gain.
Help us to look with steadfast faith and grace
Beyond the grave, ’tis but a resting place.
We wait for that great resurrection morn,
A day without dark clouds must surely dawn,
The dead in Christ, we know, shall then rise first,
And ne’er again know sorrow, pain, or thirst.
Praise be to Him by whom we shall arise,
Praise be to Him we’ll see with undimmed eyes,
Praise be to Him our great eternal King,
Praise be to Him we shall for ever sing.
