FINAL PERSEVERANCE

The belief of final perseverance is an excellent spur to make a believer humble, holy, active, as well as to raise him up after falls and backslidings, and upon this apostolic principle, knowing that his labour shall not be in vain in the Lord; whereas, who knows himself, and sees the strength of his enemies, would lie down and despair if he did not believe the promise that, ‘He who hath begun a good work in him will perfect it unto the day of Jesus Christ.’
