GOD’S GOOD GIFTS
Fruits and flowers and golden corn
Galleys, fields and hills adorn;
God this rich provision gives,
By these gifts each creature lives.
Harvest follows springtime’s toil,
Rich the produce of the soil;
Nor will harvest ever cease,
Every year will bring increase.
Has not God His promise passed?
And His word stands ever fast;
His sure purpose must prevail
For His word can never fail.
His almighty name we bless
For His constant faithfulness;
He is gracious, good and great,
Him we trust, on Him we wait.
He who sent His Son to die
Will His children’s needs supply;
He will keep, and He control,
Body, spirit, mind and soul.
Great the harvest of the earth
Yet of much superior worth
Is the harvest of the Cross,
Which meets guilty sinners’ loss.
