TIME AND ETERNITY
We’ve got to save time is the theme of today,
We cut the hours short as we scurry away;
Dash here, and dash there, is what all have to do,
Then gaze at `the box’ nearly half the night through.
`How can you save time – can you bank it like money,
Or store it in jars as we do the bee’s honey?
Time is for use, both by night and by day;
Of course you can’t save it – it just flies away.’
But time will soon end, both for you and for me,
Then where shall we spend that vast eternity?
Christ rose from the dead, and He’s gone to prepare
A place for believers – but will you be there?
The best use for time is to come to know God,
To serve His dear Son who this earth has once trod,
To trust Him alone who has died for our sin,
And waits, with His Father, to welcome us in.
